Cupcake inspiration

Tonight I will flicking through the pages of

Which, as you can see, I picked up for £7.50 whilst in the supermarket earlier today. I've been hankering after a copy of it for awhile, but I couldn't justify spending nigh on £15 on yet another cookbook. So when I spotted that it had been reduced by half, it just somehow ended up in my shopping basket.  Don't ask me how.

And, would you believe it, sitting next to it on the shelf was this little delight:

The Hummingbird Bakery Cupcake Kit, which contains a cookbook and some lovely cupcake cases.  Another present to wrap for the 40 gifts.

And, if you're interested, here are a few pics of some of the other gifts I've purchased so far:

A set of Molton Brown smellies. (Little bottles of heaven).

A Green & Black's Chocolate Recipe Book. (Picked up a few months back at a bargain price - which I can't quite remember, from The Works).

An Orla Kiely wash mitt.  (I'm loving this wash mitt, though even if I dropped both subtle (and not so subtle) hints, to a certain male, living in the same flat as me, he still wouldn't get the message that I need one - though just for bathroom eye-candy you understand, this little toweling piece of loveliness is not for actual use - surely everbody agrees with me).

And some Australian Organics soaps. (Ooooo these look realy nice.  Purchased from the Queen of all shops - John Lewis).

I know, I know, I've got a ways to go yet before I reach #40, but I've been sourcing certain presents on the net, I just haven't got round to purchasing any of them yet. I'll get there though, so no worries.

  2. Close friends are worth their weight in gold though, don't you think? Since both of us now have children, we've shelved the buying presents for each other, so this will be a complete shock for her. Plus, you never get so many presents the older you get, so 40 (big and small) presents will be like reverting back to childhood - a magical time for birthdays!

My eyes nearly popped out of my head last night whilst I looked through The Hummingbird Bakery book - I can't wait to get started on a cupcake bake-a-thon.
