These fantastical patterns were found in a 1988 copy of Vogue Knitting magazine, which was kindly given to me yesterday by one of the lovely ladies in my Knitting Group.
There were a couple of interesting patterns though, that I actually do like, and may even attempt to knit - I'm especially loving the 'little knit'.
You know you want him, but you can't because he's mine, all mine!!!!!!
On another note: It's a beautiful, if somewhat cold, day today. Seeing as I've been up since 5am (yes, you read that correct) alot has been done around here already.
We've had breakfast and even talked into our cereal bowl (though I don't think it spoke back).
We've done some laundry (too much laundry in my opinion).
Oh god my ironing basket looks exactly the same - it's going to topple over and crush me soon. What a fun weekend I have in store!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are hilarious - what is the blue jumper with the random things on it all about?! An eye?! And some sort of deer?!
I think I'm just gonna hide the laundry basket. I used to love to stand and iron, now it's on a par with cleaning the lavvy (hate it).
ReplyDeleteYou know you love that Blue jumper - I'll email you the pattern :0)
ah the 80s.... best to forget them... what a bad period for fashion!
ReplyDeletecool thanks for that, I’ll try and have a look for that book – now onto this 1980s book, these doesn’t happen to be a photo of that guy without the jumper??!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that brings back memories...my mum used to knit me loud sweaters in the eighties. On particular favourite was an electric blue batwing number. Remember batwings?!
ReplyDeleteLina: Do I remember batwings???? Unfortunately, I do (hangs head in shame). You try to forget what awful stuff you used to wear back then, but this magazine just brings all the painful memories back doesn't it? And, what about the hairstyles? OMG! ha ha
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog - I hope you'll visit again.
My mum dug out the knitting books I had when I was a teenager and I used to knit on long journeys.
ReplyDeleteOh! The batwings, and the fluffy colours, and the zigzags and the shoulders. Shudder.
