Whilst Violet attends nursery (and if I'm not helping out in the classroom or with swimming lessons), I pop off to the local coffee shop, grab myself a nice seat by the window or a quiet corner, and pick up my needles.
I've been clicking away at quite a few projects of late, but had to put them to one side when a friend announced that she was expecting.
And before I knew it, I'd knit a bright, cheery, and warm pram blanket.
I love the colours.

Next, I wanted to knit something for baby to snuggle up to at home.
I haven't a clue whether it'll be a boy or a girl, so opted for a cream and pale yellow combo.
My initial thoughts were to knit it entirely in stripes, but now I'm not so sure..........
......perhaps half stripes, half plain cream would look nice.
When it's finished, and if I still have enough time, I'm going to attempt
this pattern called Potter by Lisa Richardson, which I found over on the Rowan website.
I love knitting for babies.
If you're wondering why I named this post "Look at granny, knitting in the corner". This is what one of the school mums said to me when she saw me knitting one morning.
To me knitting seems a perfectly reasonable thing to do in a coffee shop. Though being the only one doing it; perhaps I did look a little strange.
