Yesterday, I mentioned that I'd made myself a new blouse, and I thought I'd show it to you today.
I made a size 10, in design B, from New Look pattern 6187.
Modifications: Before sewing up the hem, I tried it on and found it to be a little snug(!) around the derrière. So I unpicked 4" from the bottom of each side seam and made slits up each side, making it a much better fit.
I'm already contemplating making another one, and have just ordered some cotton lawn in red, which I think will go great.
Details:
Pattern - New Look (#6187)
Fabric - Plumberry from the Charleston Farmhouse collection, designed by Felicity Miller for Freespirit.

ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely Jill!! You know they are still taking applications for next year's Sewing Bee competition!! You could definitely be a contender! Great modification on the hem, and I expect that it adds a nice detail to the bottom as well! What a clever thing you are. xx
