Did you all have an enjoyable Halloween?
We spent most of yesterday over at a friend's house, carving pumpkins, making rice crispy cakes and getting our faces painted all ready to go on Spooky Halloween walk through the woods, which the local council had organised.
The walk started at 5:50pm, so it was really dark.
On our travels we met a scary witch, story tellers with gruesome tales of blood porridge and the un-dead, and we came face to face with two beautiful real live owls.
People kept jumping out from behind trees - and yes, I fell victim and screamed like a banshee.
Luckily, we'd dressed in about 5 layers of clothes, which kept out the freezing cold night air, but then the heavens opened and we got soaked through.
Violet won scariest costume.
We came home wet through and slightly on the cold side, but after a hot bath and a warm drink we started to feel like ourselves again.
What spooky fun we had.
I must remember to take a torch next year.

I'd have embarassed myself too - I can't do spooky things even if I know they are just pretend (I still watch Doctor Who with a cushion to hide behind!!).
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely day - small son went out with friends and we had just 3 small but cute trick or treaters to visit :)
Love the face painting - really stunning :)

ReplyDeleteViolet looks fab, no wonder she won scariest costume. Glad you all had a good evening. Just been catching up on your last post. We always park in the car park behind the National Media Museum when we visit the Alhambra, yet we've never been to the museum itself, I think we really need to go.
ReplyDeleteShe looks utterly fab!!! Great photos. xxxx
