This week I was expecting to be posting about two more lovely Christmas Traditions that I thoroughly enjoy. However, the snow unfortunately scuppered my plans good and proper.
We had arranged to go and stay with some very dear friends last Saturday, and we'd also booked tickets to take our children on a little steam train ride and to meet Santa on the Sunday morning.
On Saturday we had about a foot of snow, making the roads far too dangerous to even attempt to drive.
I was so disappointed.
We stayed home and watched The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe and played with Lego instead.
I hope your weekend plans weren't disrupted.

I thnk a lot of people's plans are scuppered this year - shame. However playing with Lego and watching the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe sounds preferable to sleeping on the floor at the airport!!
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of your Christmas will be as planned

Oh no! Well our plans went down the drain too! My mum came over from France to see my aunt and uncle who were meant to fly over from the states, but that got cancelled, and now she's stuck here! In a massive queue trying to get on the eurostar now.... :-(
ReplyDeleteSorry about the scuppered plans. Seems like the uk just can't cope with her own weather. The Lego looks very good though and the film is Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and yours for a very happy if slightly awry Christmas
The snow has been causing all sorts of chaos - I was lucky to hit Heathrow when I did - the next day it turned into mayhem! My sister is in Canterbury and that is not far but if this keeps up we may have problems getting her back for Christmas - and she's not even on plane! So sorry you're plans got ruined...such a shame! We really can't cope with this snow can we? But I think you're plan b sounds good too! xxx
ReplyDeleteFab! I'll show these to my Lego mad son . Did you see his Nativity scene he made last year (on December 2009 archive post) We bring it out every year. Its a shame your plans got spoiled, but the snow is just about as Chritmassy as it gets. Lots of love to you all. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThis snow has got a lot to answer for. I remember taking my son on a Santa steam train when he was little (before my daughter came along). Your back up plan sounds good though.
ReplyDeleteAww I'm sorry your plans were spoilt! Going on a little train to see Father Chrsitmas sounded like fun too!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough plan B sounded quite nice too! Love the festive lego scene. :)
My son (now 25) loved lego, I've managed to get him lego cufflinks as a surprise for Christmas!
Keep warm,
Vivienne x
We have been largely unaffected here but I do feel for those that are stranded or will mis family this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGreat Lego models - that would make a good card!
