Not here, but in my latest cross stitch, which is entitled 'Snow is Falling' by Belle & Boo.
It's not very often that I buy Cross Stitcher magazine, but when I spotted the front cover whilst browsing in WH Smith's one day, I knew that I had to purchase a copy of their October 2013 issue.
I've used slightly different colours to the ones listed in the design, not by much, but I just knew that if this little girl had been Violet, she'd be wearing her Yellow wellies.
I also used frosted white beads to represent my falling snow, instead of using white thread.
The whole project is stitched on a 28 count Cashel Linen in Ice Blue.
Apologies to Vivienne for teasing her with my sneaky peak bunny image earlier in the week. I hope the wait was worth it.

I noticed this straight away as a Belle & Boo design when I saw the photo in my feedly reader lists - it's so cute, I love her designs and the idea of V yellow wellies and beads for the snow really make it more personal, which is a lovely. Bx
ReplyDeleteThey're such lovely, vintage inspired, designs aren't they? It's already been claimed by the little lady - I love how much she likes the things I make. Bless her! xx
DeleteAbsolutely worth it Jill, I love Belle and Boo and your little cross stitch is gorgeous! What a really good idea to use the little beads, they make beautiful snow! I bet Violet loves the yellow wellies! :)

I knew you'd like this picture, Vivienne. I love adding a few personal details to my projects. It appears I'll be spending a few pennies at the framers, what with yesterday's Santa, and today's snowy picture. This Belle & Boo design would have made a pretty cushion front, but would be rather uncomfortable now that I've added the beads. xx
DeleteI absolutely love this - you are excellent at cross stich Jill. I'll have to look for the mag, but it will take me ages to do! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. If you can't find the magazine, let me know, and I'll lend you mine. It's quite a quick design to stitch, so I'm sure it won't take you too long. xx
DeleteIt's really beautiful. I love the idea of using beads, what a special, distinctive touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer x
DeleteSo pretty Jill, I love how you have changed the colour of the wellies to match Violets and the snow beads are such a good idea, they look great in the photos, so I bet they look even better in person. Hope that you manage to get this and the last one framed. xx
