A very good morning to you all. Is the sun shining where you are today?
Hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. It was rather wet here.
I meant to post these photos of our holiday in Wales last week, but we had so many visitors, and various trips out, that I just didn't get chance.
We stayed in a small holiday cottage at Troedyrhiw Holiday Cottages, just outside the town of Cardigan. It was perfect, just large enough for our little family.
I loved it because it was very clean and quiet, Violet loved it because it had lots of animals.
Just some of the many animals.
Very pretty town of Aberaeron.
I loved all the different coloured houses.
Beautiful Cilgerran Castle.
Mwnt
Mwnt chapel.
Mwnt beach.
One of the most beautiful beaches I think I've been to in Britain. It's a National Trust golden beach and I'm sure you can see why.
When we arrived at about 10am there were only a handful of people already there.
It's a perfect spot for families as the car park isn't far away, there are toilets and a shop. The sand is golden, with no pebbles or seaweed scattered about and the waves are just big enough to have fun jumping over or for bodyboarding.
There are coastal walks along the top and there is even a campsite close by.
Building sandcastles on Cei beach.
Aberporth beach.
The Gorge Walk at The Welsh Wildlife Visitors Centre, Cardigan.
The weather may not have always been kind to us on our holiday, but it didn't stop us all having a lovely time. I would highly recommend visiting this part of Wales. We'll definitely be making a return visit in the not too distant future.
Hasn't your little girl grown!! I have a friend who lives near Cardigan and I love this area at all seasons. It's quite magic isn't it? Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting - it definitely is a magical place and deserving of a return visit and further exploration. Next time I hope we'll be able to visit Devil's bridge & Devil's cauldron.
DeleteWe were in Pembrokeshire last week! We also visited the Welsh Wildlife Centre and would have visited mwnt beach but we didn't have time. I'm going to investigate your accomodation for future visits as I wasn't impressed with ours.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm sorry to hear your accomodation wasn't that great. I can definitely recommend the place we stayed. Mwnt was only a short drive away.
DeleteThanks for that extra info. Our cottage was £415 for the week and I thought that was cheap for August but really it was too far inland for what we wanted to do. Never mind, we have learned from it! Your cottage sounds really nice, so I have bookmarked that for the future as I liked Pembrokeshire and didn't have time to go everywhere I wanted to.
DeleteWe travelled down via Devil's Bridge and I featured that in my 'day one' post (along with a moan about the cottage!
It all looks so very beautiful and uncrowded. Violet is looking so grown up now. Love the posts Ive missed too. We have a poorly relative so I'm struggling to keep up with everybody's blogs. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your poorly relative, Diane. Violet & I are sending you our best wishes. x
