Lovejoy Slouchy the Second

Good morning.

I managed to photograph one of my latest knits late yesterday afternoon.  The light still wasn't the best, but it's got to be posted off the recipient, so this was the last chance I had to take a half decent photo.

It's another Lovejoy Slouchy hat.   This one is for my Aunt's birthday.

I used Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK,  in Antique Lace.

Sadly, after a long day at school, my model was too tired to smile :0(

This time round I remembered to keep adding a 'life line', just in case any of those pesky stitches decided to fall off my needle.

I've fallen in love with this pattern. It's such a pretty design.  I can definitely see me making more of these.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

  1. That's so pretty. Might be a little beyond my knitting capabilities but I'm tempted to give it a go.

  2. Thank you. Unfortunately, my rather dull photos don't show this hat off to it's true beauty. It really is a great hat to knit, and easy too. If you're able to knit, purl and know how to do a yarn over and knit together, then you can knit this hat. The only thing I would say (because I learnt the hard way), is to put in a 'life line' at the end of every pattern repeat (about every 12 rows). If you don't know what I mean by this, it's basically threading a spare piece of yarn through every loop/stitch on your needle, and securing it with a knot. That way, if you loose/drop a stitch whilst working the pattern, you know that you'll only have to unravel/frog a maximum of 12 rows before starting again, as your 'life line' will have secured your previous work for you. Hope that makes sense. x

  3. It's a really lovely pattern and that yarn looks gorgeous too. I've just caught up on your last post, I love that yarn bowl. That's something I could really do with myself. Having a dog, if I drop my yarn on the floor it ends up covered in dog hairs, not that my carpet it covered in dog hairs you understand, I do vac everyday, but you know what I mean, they get everywhere. Good on you for treating yourself.
