Perhaps we should have just stayed in bed.

We decided on a leisurely stroll around Earlswood Lakes on Sunday morning.

The plan was to go for a walk around one of the lakes (there are 3), then go and have coffee and cake in the craft centre opposite.

We never got round to coffee and cake because Violet fell in.

Don't panic. She didn't go under or the water or anything, and she's perfectly well.

The incident occured whilst she was standing on a fishing peg trying to read what number it was.  One second she's standing on the peg, the next second, Splash!  she's in the water.  Luckily, she managed to cling on to the side, so just her legs were dangling in the water.  I dragged her out and tugged off her wellies, which were full of lake water.  Then it was back to the car and home again before she got too cold.

After cleaning Violet up and getting her into some fresh clothes, I started to prepare a Sunday lunch.  Would you believe it.  But, I only went and peeled the top off one of my knuckles with the potato peeler - Ouch!!

Perhaps we should all have just stayed in bed!

  1. Poor Violet, she must have had such a shock, hope she's over it now. Ouch, hope your knuckle's healing too, it makes me cringe when I read anything like that.

Poor Violet, she must have been freezing!!!
Hope the knuckle is healing, that sounds nasty, I've had some potato peeler incidents myself in the past. :(
Re the sea glass, I have yet to use it Jill, I just like collecting it and looking at it! One day though one day.... :)

  3. Maybe you should! I fell in a boating lake when I was 3 in winter time too! Hope Violet doesn't suffer any ill effects from her fall in the water and hope your potato peeled knuckles will be OK too!
